PROJECT: Senior Strategic Buyer
Together with our Partner, a manufacturer of metal parts for the machinery and automotive industries, we invite you to discuss the role of Senior Strategic Buyer. .
Aim of the role:
Execution of non-production/indirect purchases for the internal needs of the manufacturing plant.
Scope of responsibilities:
- Realizing indirect orders in accordance with company policy (e.g., MRO, CAPEX, services, utilities, fixed assets);
- Cooperation with internal departments (e.g., administration, IT, maintenance) to identify purchasing needs;
- Sourcing and qualifying new suppliers;
- Conducting commercial negotiations and concluding agreements with suppliers;
- Managing comprehensive order processes, including those subject to internal or public regulations;
- Monitoring order fulfillment and ensuring timely deliveries;
- Conducting market analysis and identifying cost optimization opportunities;
- Supporting budgeting processes and preparing purchasing reports.
Requirements:
- Higher education (preferably in the field of logistics, management, engineering, or economics);
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar position, preferably in the technical, industrial, or transport industry;
- Proven knowledge of indirect procurement processes;
- Excellent negotiation and contract management skills;
- Excellent organizational and time management skills;
- Proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel; experience in using ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) will be an additional asset;
- Language skills: good written and spoken English for communication with suppliers;
- Experience in public procurement procedures or corporate purchasing standards will be an additional asset;
- Experience in continuous improvement initiatives is welcome;
- Ability to work in a team and excellent interpersonal skills;
- Ability to influence stakeholders at various levels of the organization;
- High motivation and results-oriented mindset;
- Analytical and systematic approach to problem-solving;
- Proactive and "hands-on" approach;
- Ability to prioritize, manage deadlines, and handle multiple tasks;
- Capability to work effectively in an international and interdisciplinary team.
